WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's soccer team finished the regular season in a 1-0 loss against Rollins College Saturday night. The game was rescheduled due to weather from the original date.
Florida Southern (5-9-2, 2-6-2) had chances early in the first half but unable to get a score. The Tars (7-6-3, 5-2-3) scored in the first six minutes as the Mocs were able to keep the game close for the rest of the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mocs had two shots on goal in the first half, but no score
- Rollins got on board first from a goal by Tayla Duffy and assisted by Meghan Mosley in the sixth minute
- Rebeka Mejia had an opportunity to even the score, but just off as the Tars keeper made the save
- Tatum Albrecht had her own shot on goal halfway through the first but again the Tars made the save
- Great defense by the Mocs kept the game just a one goal deficit by halftime
- Mocs keeper Grace Stec had four saves in the second half as the offense looked for scoring chances
- Elena Brkic and Rachel Peck each had a chance late in the second to equalize but the Tars made back-to-back saves to come out with the win

- The Tars held the advantage in shots (18-to-5) and slight lead in corner kicks (7-to-4)
