MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference (SSC) has awarded Florida Southern College swimmer
Olivia Miles as Women's Swimmer of the Week. This is her first player of the week selection this season.
A freshman from Margate, England, Miles has won several distance events in the few meets so far this season. In the home opener against Indian River State College (IRSC) on Friday, Miles won the 1650 yard freestyle. Her time of 17:32.88 is good for second among NCAA Division II student-athletes in the 1650 freestyle so far this season, and sixth all-time in FSC history.
Miles also won the 400 IM on Friday with a time of 4:33.73, which is the seventh-best time in school history. The Mocs were unable to take the team win against IRSC, but Miles led the way for the women with two event wins. The women's swim team will participate in the Panther Invitational November 19-21 in Melbourne, hosted by Florida Tech.
