Florida Southern Selected to Host 2021 NCAA DII Women's Lacrosse South Regional Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Florida Southern College has been selected to host the 2021 Women's Lacrosse South Regional Tournament as announced by the NCAA on Monday, April 19. Moccasin Field at the Barnett Athletic Complex will play host to the three-team tournament set for May 14 & 16.

This will mark the fourth time the since the 2016 season the Mocs will host the regional tournament. Florida Southern hosted three straight regional tournaments from 2016-18.  

The 2021 tournament format will revert back to the format used prior to the 2019 season. This year's tournament will feature three teams, with the number one seed earning a first round bye to the regional final on Sunday, May 16.

Tournament details, including teams, game times, and other logistics will be made available at a later date.

The south region is made up of the Conference Carolinas, the Gulf South Conference, the Peach Belt Conference, and the Sunshine State Conference.

Florida Southern is currently ranked No. 7 in the latest IWLCA division II rankings and currently holds a 5-1 overall record and a 4-1 record in the SSC.

The NCAA has named host sites for a total of three of the four regional tournaments. East Stroudsburg will host the Atlantic Regional and Lindenwood University will host the Midwest Regional. The East Regional site will be determined at a later date.  

The Division II women's lacrosse selection show is set for May 9 and will be streamed on NCAA.com. The national tournament will take place May 21-23 at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Va.
