COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Florida Southern men's golf team sits tied for fourth place after day one of the 2021 Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State University at the Green Island Country Club in Columbus, Ga.
Playing in their first tournament in almost a year, Southern shot a combined 588 on the first day between rounds one and two. Facing 13 Division II teams, including two other Sunshine State Conference schools.
Leading the way for Florida Southern is sophomore
Johnny Tucker with a combined first and second-round score of 145. He shot two-over-par on his first 18 and shot a three-over in round two to sit in a tie for 19th place, individually. Tucker is currently 11 strokes away from the leader.
Clay Tucker shot a 76 in round one and followed it up with a 71 in round two placing him in tied for 34th for day one.

Noah Kumar each lead the way for FSC in round two as both shot a 71 the best of the day for the Mocs. Kumar had a combined score of 150, 10-over par. Senior,
Sam Rogers and redshirt freshman
Adam Alvarez finished the first two rounds tied for 59th as Rogers shot a 75 in the first round finishing the day with a 77 in round two. Alvarez was just three-over par in the first round and shot a 79 in round two for Florida Southern.
Day Two of the Cougar Invitational begins Tuesday, September 28 with a 9 a.m. shotgun.
