TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team had a great showing in a quad meet against Florida State University, the University of West Florida, and the University of North Florida at the Morcom Aquatics Center Friday afternoon.
The Mocs were scored head-to-head against each of the three teams, beating one of the opponents, in a close 134-127 win against UNF. Florida Southern lost 200-93 against UWF, and 232-59 against Florida State.
The meet was highlighted with a great event win by freshman
Elizabeth Sikes, who finished the 200 fly with a top time of 2:06.81.
Allie Brinton placed fourth among the three teams in the same event, and
Emma Sammons seventh.
Erin McCann continue her great performances in the 200 and 1000 free events, finishing third in the 1000 and seventh in the 200.
Olivia Miles was sixth in the 1000 free.
Other top finishes for the Mocs included
Teagan Michalek in the 100 back,
Emily Peck in the 100 breast,
Jazzy Hoffmann (fourth) and
Phoebe Reid in the 50 free.
Alizee Pelletier finished the 200 breast in 2:26.07, good for fourth among the three other teams. Competing in the 500 free,
Maja Eriksson and Miles went back-to-back for sixth and seventh-place finishes. Sikes continued her momentum in the 100 fly, finishing top five and Brinton in 10
th. Peck rounded out top finishes, with third in the 200 IM.
The Mocs will take a trip to No. 5 Tampa next Friday, Nov. 4, and a home conference meet against Lynn the next day, Saturday, Nov. 5, set for 10 a.m. at the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center Pool.
