FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team finished in third place out of six teams at the Shark Invitational, hosted by Nova Southeastern University at the NSU Aquatic Center.
The Mocs finished with 517.50 points for their third-place finish. The University of Tampa took first with 1,093 points and Nova Southeastern was second with 991.50 points. Savannah College of Art & Design (478.50), Florida Tech (127.50), and St. Thomas University (40) rounded out the six-team field.
Sophomore
Olivia Miles highlighted the Moccasins in the remaining events with top-eight finishes in the 1000 free and the 400 IM. The England native placed sixth in the 400 IM as the best individual finish of the day for the Mocs. A team of

Stephanie Suarez,
Elizabeth Sikes, and
Jazzy Hoffmann finished eighth in the 200-medley relay.
Phoebe Reid had a ninth-place finish in the 100 breast, with Suarez right behind with a 10th-place finish.
In the 200 free,
Erin McCann finished in 10
th with a time of 1:56.95, with teammate
Maja Eriksson right behind in 11
th.
Anya Bogdanova added a top-ten finish in the 400 IM, just behind Miles. Sikes competed in the 100 fly and finished in a seldom-seen tie for eighth in the field. The last event of the invitational was the 400 free relay, where the Mocs took eighth behind the team of Hoffmann, McCann, Eriksson, and Sikes.
The Mocs will return to Lakeland with both swimming teams hosting a dual meet against Rollins College Friday, Oct. 14
th, set for a 3 p.m. start at the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center Pool.
