MELBOURNE, Fla. – After day two of the Panther Invitational, the Florida Southern College women's swimming team remains in first place through 24 events at the Panther Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon.
The Mocs continued their lead with 820 points through 24 events, with Rollins College (775 points), Florida Tech (626 points), and St. Thomas University (387 points) after day two of three at the invitational, hosted by Florida Tech.
Similar to yesterday's events, Florida Southern had another sweep of the podium with the 400 IM as
Olivia Miles took first with a B standard time of 4:28.00, with
Emily Peck and
Anya Bogdanova in second and third, respectively. In the 100 fly,
Allie Brinton was the Moccasin winner, with
Elizabeth Sikes in second.
With another podium majority,
Erin McCann won the 200 free, and
Maja Eriksson second with another great time. In the 100 breast,
Alizee Pelletier took first with a time of 1:04.19, and Peck took third with a time of 1:05.49.
Teagan Michalek had a great performance in the 100 back and finished third with a time of 59.80. To end the day's events, Florida Southern won the 800 free relay behind a team of Eriksson, Sikes, Miles, and McCann.
The third and final day of the Panther Invitational will be tomorrow, beginning with the prelims at 10 a.m. and the finals at 5 p.m. at the Panther Aquatic Center in Melbourne.
