LAKELAND, Fla. – No. 16 Florida Southern men's basketball hosts the 2022 Terrace Hotel Christmas Classic Dec. 17-18 at Streamline Sale Court inside the George W. Jenkins Field House. The Moccasins will host Sunshine State Conference foe, Barry University, as well as Post University and the University of Fort Lauderdale.

The four teams converge on center court on Saturday with a pair of games with Barry and Fort Lauderdale set for 5:30 p.m. and Florida Southern and Post for 7:30 p.m. The two men's games will follow the conclusion of the women's basketball games that wrap up the women's basketball version of the Christmas Classic.

On Sunday, the men's tournament wraps up with Barry and Post facing off at 5:30 p.m. while Florida Southern and Fort Lauderdale close at 7:30 p.m.

Florida Southern appeared in the NABC DII Top-25 Coaches Poll for the fourth straight week after traveling to Melbourne on Dec. 10 and earned a 74-67 win over Florida Tech. The Moccasins started the year with a 7-0 record, marking the best start under current head coach

As a team, Southern averages 88.2 points per game and allows 81.8 (+6.4 margin). From the field, the Mocs shoot .471 percent and .397 from beyond the arc while holding an .790-percent from the free throw line. Florida Southern narrowly holds an advantage over its opponents on the rebounding war 38.7 per game to 37.3 per game (+1.4).

Luke Anderson and
Wes Bongiorni are the other two starters in double-figure averages with 10.8 and 10.7 points per game, respectively. Dambreville is the leader in rebounding with 81 on the young season for a 9.0 average while Bongiorni is the offensive board king with 23 for the squad.

Booth and Dambreville have been named Sunshine State Conference Players of the Week this season with Booth grabbing the first honor on Nov. 7 while Dambreville has now earned the honor twice, Nov. 21 and Dec. 12. Dambreville was also named the D2CIDA Division II Player of the Week following his performance for the week Nov. 14-20 in which he scored a career-high 29 points in the Mocs' win over the Lakers in Morrow, Ga.

Fort Lauderdale is riding into Lakeland on a two-game win streak which features a 66-64 overtime win against Sunshine State Conference opponent Palm Beach Atlantic on Dec. 13. The Eagles defeated Webber International 82-78 on Dec. 8 to snap a three-game skid. Fort Lauderdale will compete against St. Thomas on Dec. 15.

As members of the NCCAA, Fort Lauderdale averages 76.9 points per game, while allowing opponents to score 80.6 (-3.7 margin). The Eagles shoot .441 from the field including a .302 clip from three-point range and a .588 mark from the free throw line.

Three players for the Eagles average double-figures in scoring led by Kemari Brown and Jongkor Unguec at 14.1 ppg each. Trevon White is the third of the group with 10.4 ppg, having played all 10 games thus far.

The Eagles will face off against Barry once again, having lost to the Buccaneers 81-65 earlier back on Nov. 12 in Miami Shores. Fort Lauderdale stands at 1-2 against SSC teams suffering a loss against then-no. 4 Nova Southeastern on Nov. 11, 108-73.

Post travels to Lakeland on a two-game win streak which has helped the Eagles move to 5-5 this season. The Eagles earned a 68-47 win over Alliance University (Dec. 6) before topping Southern New Hampshire University 71-61 (Dec. 10).

As a team, the Eagles average 71.5 points per game and hold opponents to just 67.3 points per game (+4.2 margin). Post carries shooting percentages of .436 from the field, .372 from beyond the arc and a .771 from the free throw line.

Three players average double-figures in the team-leader Isaiah Holmes at 14.1 ppg while D.J. Frechette is second on the team with 13.6 ppg and Tyler Small at 10.9. Abdul-basit Ajia sits atop the team lead in rebounding, averaging 7.9 boards per game with 79 total this season.

Barry will entertain Walsh University on Friday before taking on the Terrace Hotel Christmas Classic in Lakeland. The Buccaneers look to bounce back from an 86-70 loss to Rollins on Dec. 10 and are standing at 3-3 overall on the year.

The Bucs hold a win over Fort Lauderdale already this season and will look to keep an undefeated record against the Eagles on Saturday. As a team, the Bucs average 81.3 points per game and hold opponents to 75.3 ppg (+6.0) while shooting .413 from the field and .357 from beyond the arc. The Bucs add a .715 clip from the free throw line.

Barry is led by four players in double-figures with Nick Anderson leading the charge at 16.0 ppg. Jaron Williams is second on the team at 12.0 while Malik Standly is third with 11.2 ppg. James Montgomery nearly averages a double-double with 10.3 ppg and a team-best 8.3 rebounds per game, hauling in 51 total boards through six games.
