CLEARWATER, Fla. – A great finish to the Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships as the Florida Southern College women's team places third overall, including record-breaking performances.
Nova Southeastern won the women's championship, with Tampa close behind in second ahead of the Mocs in third. Lynn finished fourth, with Rollins just behind in fifth. Saint Leo and Florida Tech rounded out sixth and seventh in team scores.
Freshman
Olivia Miles finished third in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:09.93, a new personal best for her and second-best in FSC history. After breaking the school record in the 50-yard freestyle on Thursday, sophomore
Jazzy Hoffmann responded with another school record in the 100-yard freestyle after a 50.18 time for the first-place finish.
Florida Southern women had another podium finish after
Emily Peck had the second-best time in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:17.10. A team of
Maja Eriksson, Morgan Misenar, Rachel Cunningham, and Hoffmann finished the night with a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The overall third-place finish in the SSC Championships is the best finish since the 2018-19 season when the Mocs placed third. Florida Southern had great performances throughout the five-day championships with new school records and plenty of improved times as the Mocs look to send several women to Greensboro for the NCAA Championships.
