LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern men's golf is currently sitting in second place after the first two rounds of the Matlock Collegiate Classic at Lone Palm Golf Club in Lakeland, Fla. at 559 (-17).
The Moccasins opened the spring semester and their home tournament up with a 280 before shaving one stroke over the second 18 to compile the team score of 559. Florida Southern held a commanding lead heading to the second round, but the overall no. 1 team in Division II, Barry University, stormed back with a 19-under second round, 269, to card the lowest single round in Matlock Collegiate Classic history. The Buccaneers hold a two-stroke advantage over the host Mocs going into Tuesday's final 18.
Noah Kumar is the team leader after 36-holes at seven-under and is currently sitting tied for second. Kumar sank eight birdies over the first two rounds while only having one over-par which was no. 16 during the first round.

Johnny Tucker are tied for 10
th after firing off a three-under 141. Tucker tallied seven birdies and one eagle on the first day as Alvarez notched five birdies and an eagle.
