EATONTON, Ga. – No. 13 Florida Southern men's golf closed Monday's rounds of the Bobcat Invitational in seventh place out of the 15 team field after carding a team score of 12-over 572 on the par-70, 6,730-yard course at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee.
Florida Southern opened the day with a 289 (+9) and followed with just a three-over 283, shaving six stroke over the second 18 holes. As a team, the Moccasins sit at 12-over, 572 and in seventh place.
Adam Alvarez is leading the way for the Mocs at an even-par 140 in eighth place. Alvarez started the day at two-over and concluded round two with a two-under 68 to even things out before Tuesday's final round.
One stroke separates FSC's 2-5 players as Noah Kumar is in 22nd at 144 (+4), Johnny Tucker in 34th at 145 (+5), Sam Rogers in 42nd at 146 (+6), and Clay Tucker in 47th at 147 (+7).
A.J. Ewart (Barry) is the clubhouse leader at seven-under 133 posting rounds of 65 and 68. The no. 1 Buccaneers are standing as the top team at three-under for two rounds with a score of 557. The Bucs used rounds of 280 and 277 to make up the final 36-hole score.
