EATONTON, Ga. - No. 13 Florida Southern men's golf turned in the best team score of the day at one-under 279 on the par-70 6,730-yard course at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee for the final round of the Bobcat Invitational. The Moccasins climbed four spots Tuesday and finished the 54-hole score of 851 (+11) in third place.
Adam Alvarez went toe-to-toe with the no. 3 Division II golfer, A.J. Ewart (Barry) and finished a stroke shy of first place following his second straight 68 (-2). The Winter Haven, Fla. native finished at 208 (-2) after rounds of 72, 68, 68 for his 54 holes.
The Mocs placed two, along with Alvarez, inside the top-31 of the field with
Noah Kumar taking 23rd, 215 (+5), and
Clay Tucker 31st, 216 (+6). Kumar carded a one-over 71 Tuesday while C. Tucker shot a one-under 69 to jump 16 spots.
No. 1 Barry finished as the team champions at three-over 843 ahead of no. 16 Lander (849) and no. 13 Florida Southern (851). No. 11 West Florida and Clayton State finished tied for fourth at 852 (+12) after the Argonauts shot a nine-over 289 and the Lakers a 10-over 290 for Tuesday's round.
