Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Gaddy Nets Career-High; #7 Women's Lacrosse Adds to Streak with Win at Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio – Graduate student Marlee Moon Gaddy tallied a career-high six goals in the 18-7 win for No. 7 Florida Southern women's lacrosse, as the Moccasins moved to 8-1 overall with the road win over Tiffin Sunday afternoon at Frost-Kalnow Stadium.

Florida Southern opened the game up with a 9-1 first period as Marlee Moon Gaddy started the scoring and ended the period with four total goals. The Mocs added a 5-1 second period to claim a 14-2 halftime advantage. Gaddy scored her two other goals in the second quarter to wrap up the half with a six-goal performance.

A tight third period saw the Mocs edge the Dragons 3-2 for a 17-4 lead after three full periods of action. Tiffin used a 3-1 fourth period to cut the deficit but the gap the Mocs held was too great for the home team, as Florida Southern claimed the 18-7 road win.

Gaddy added an assist in the third period to complete her seven-point performance (6 G / 1 A) to lead all Moccasins. Ellie Griffin and Maria Reeves each netted three goals while Olivia Manghisi found the back of the net on a pair of occasions. Katie Yeagle, Brenna Smith, Emma Dudley, and Elise Alders each scored in the road win.

Brittany Iamele got the nod for the Moccasins in goal and played 29:16 minutes of action with just a single goal allowed in her time between the pipes. The Sound Beach, N.Y. native moves to 4-0 on the year with the win Sunday. Rylie Rittberg and Sydney O'Neill saw action for the Mocs in goal behind Iamele where both Rittberg and O'Neill tallied two saves in 15 minutes of action.

No. 7 Florida Southern has won seven straight contests and will remain on the road in its next game which serves as the Sunshine State Conference opener on April 2 against Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. The first draw between the Mocs and Fighting Knights is slated for 6:30 p.m. The Mocs will return home to host Tampa on April 6 at 7 p.m.
