GREENSBORO, NC – Jazzy Hoffmann from the Florida Southern College women's swimming team earned Honroable Mention All-American in a great showing in day one of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Swimming Championships on Wednesday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
To start the day with the preliminaries session, Hoffmann swam the 50 free with a time of 23.23, just outside a spot in the A finals. For the 1000 free finals, senior
Erin McCann represented Florida Southern and finished 18
th overall with a time of 10:18.33, over one second faster than her entry seed time. Freshman
Olivia Miles finished 28
th in the 1000 free with a time of 10:23.54 in heat three.
For the 200 medley relay finals, a Florida Southern team of
Teagan Michalek, Emily Peck, Miles, and Hoffmann finished with a time of 1:47.28 to finish 18
th overall on the night. Hoffmann competed in the B finals for the 50 free and finished with a time of 23.09, good for 10th place and an NCAA Honorable Mention All-American selection, her first such selection of her career.
Swimmers who finish in the top eight of the NCAA finals in any event earns an NCAA All-American honor, with those who finish ninth-to-16 as Honorable Mention All-American.

Day two of the NCAA Swimming Championships will feature the Miles and Peck competing in the 400 IM and McCann in the 200 free. Other events include the 100 fly and a team of Mocs for the 400 medley relay.
