LAKELAND, Fla. – No. 15 Florida Southern College men's golf closed out round one of the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Men's Golf Championships, hosted by Florida Southern at Grasslands Golf and Country Club in seventh place with a team score of 294 (+6). The Moccasins have three players inside the top-20 of the 55 player field heading into Monday's second round.
Johnny Tucker led the Mocs Sunday with an even-par 72 after sinking three birdies and making 12 pars over his first 18 holes of the championship, where Tucker is sitting in ninth place.

th place after each knocking down birdies,
Clay Tucker leading the team with five on the round. Kumar added three birdies himself and had 11 par's as the duo shot identical 73's (+1).
Adam Alvarez and
Sam Rogers rounded out the five Moccasins in the lineup where they are both tied for 33
rd with 76's (+4). Alvarez made 10 par's on the day with three birdies while Rogers made nine par's with four birdies to close out his round one.
Palm Beach Atlantic's William Hartford is leading the players after shooting a blazing six-under 66 Sunday to carry a two-stroke lead, over teammate Jacob Shamblin, into Monday's round two. No. 1 Barry is the top team following round one at 286 (-2) holding a three-stroke lead over Palm Beach Atlantic and Rollins.
