#10 Mocs Finish in 10th at the NCAA DII National Championship

DEARBORN, Mich. - On the third and final day of stroke play at the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship, the 20-team-field, including the 10th-ranked Florida Southern College Moccasins, battled 50-degree temperatures and rain for the entire day at TPC Michigan. The Mocs wrapped up the 2021-22 season with a 10th place finish at the national tournament where Florida Southern placed 10th, just missing the cut for quarterfinal action by nine strokes. FSC finished with a team score of 905 (+41) following a tough 311 (+23) final round. 

Clay Tucker paced the Mocs from wire to wire on the par-72 7,056-yard course at TPC Michigan and finished 19th overall in the individual leaderboard at 10-over 229. C. Tucker made 10 pars over the final 18 including one birdie to finish at nine-over Wednesday for a 54-hole tournament stroke play score of 226 (+10). C. Tucker tied for the team lead with Adam Alvarez and Bryce Walker for 33 pars this week at the national championship. Johnny Tucker and Sam Rogers led the team in birdies with eight apiece, just ahead of Alvarez's seven. 

For the tournament, Johnny Tucker was second on the team, and just a single stroke shy of his younger brother, Clay, with a 54-hole score of 227 (+11). J. Tucker closed the year with a final round 77 (+5) after making 10 pars and two birdies during Wednesday's round. 

Sam Rogers and Adam Alvarez tied for 51st place out of the 108 players in the field at 230 (+14) while the duo shot nearly identical scores for the final round. Both players made eight pars and had four birdies over the final 18 holes with Sam ending with a 76 (+4) and Alvarez a 77 (+5).

Bryce Walker rounds out the five Moccasins in the field in 65th place at 232 (+16) following a final round 83. Walker concluded play at the championship averaging 11 pars per round with 33 for the tournament, he made 11 Wednesday.

The Moccasins concluded the season with six top-5 finishes with nine top-10 finishes 

 
The 2022 NCAA DII Individual National Champion was Joel Sylven of Missouri-St. Louis defeated Keegan Bronnenberg of the University of Indianapolis on the first playoff hole with a birdie. The pair tied after 54-holes at two-under 214 to force a playoff.
