VALDOSTA, Ga. – The second round of the 2022 NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional was suspended with half the teams in the clubhouse thru 36-holes, including the 14
th-ranked Florida Southern College Moccasins. The Mocs are tied for fourth after 36-holes at 587 (-9) following a second-round 282 (-6).
Play will resume Saturday, May 7 at 7:00 a.m. for those teams that need to wrap up the third round of the regional hosted by Valdosta State University at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
Clay Tucker soared up the leaderboard and finished atop the standings after carding a field-best 67 (-5) on the par-72 7,420-yard course Friday to sit in a tie for first place at seven-under 137. C. Tucker is tied with A.J. Ewart (Barry), who currently ranks no. 1 in Division II. The Jacksonville, Fla. native opened the second round with back-to-back pars before a birdie on the third hole put him under par. He followed that up with two more birdies and four pars on the front nine to make the turn at three-under. C. Tucker used five pars and a pair of birdies to offset his bogey on the 15
th to finish the back nine at two-under for his second-round score of 67 (-5).
Adam Alvarez carded his second-straight under-par round with a 71 Friday to sit at two-under for the tournament, 142. The Winter Haven, Fla. native used 15 pars and two birdies to go under-par for the second round and is sitting inside the top-30 of the 108-player field.
Sam Rogers shaved two strokes from his first round and had a 36-hole score of 144 (E) after a 71 (-1) for Friday's round. The Sebring, Fla. native drained four birdies over his second 18 holes while making 11 pars to climb 11 spots in the leaderboard with his one-under round to position himself inside the top-45 of the field.
Johnny Tucker made 12 pars over the course of his second 18 holes and finished round two with a 78 (+6) and is currently 81st with a 36-hole score of 149 (+5).
Bryce Walker nearly carded an even-par but just missed out after carding a bogey on the par-4 18
th to end his round at one-over 73. The Bartow, Fla. native made three birdies and 11 par's and is currently in 93rd after 36 holes with a tally of 150 (+6).
No. 1 Barry jumped to the top of the leaderboard after carding a team score of six-under 282 Friday and currently sits at 17-under for the tournament, 559. Two players sit atop the leaderboard, No. 63
Clay Tucker, Florida Southern, and No. 1 A.J. Ewart, Barry, are tied for the individual lead at 137 (-7) following a full 36 holes of play. Ewart used rounds of 69 and 68, respectively, to get to seven under while Tucker used a 70 and 67, respectively to join Ewart at the top of the standings.

No. 14 Florida Southern and the rest of the 20-team field close out the NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional Saturday where tee times start at 7:00 a.m. The pairings will remain the same for the third and final round where the Mocs will be paired with Lincoln Memorial and South Carolina-Aiken.
