BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's basketball team traveled to the de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center on the campus of Lynn University Saturday and earned the season sweep of the Fighting Knights with a 100-81 final.
"Good effort today and it's always good to win on the road," Head Coach
Mike Donnelly stated. "I was pleased with how we played offensively. We did a nice job sharing the ball and I liked our balance scoring."
The Moccasins improve to 15-7 overall and 9-6 in Sunshine State Conference play while the Fighting Knights fall to 4-16 and 2-13 in league play.
Five players for the Mocs scored in double-figures led by redshirt senior
E.J. Dambreville with 21. Dambreville, a native of Dorchester, Mass., went 8-for-11 from the field with a 2-for-3 mark from beyond the arc and a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line. He finished with six assists and five rebounds.

Wes Bongiorni each scored 12 points ahead of redshirt sophomore

Alex Steen finished close behind with eight and seven points on the night.
Lynn saw three players in double-figures led by Nordin Kapic's game-high 25 points. Jalen Gilmore also registered a 20-point game while Rickey Ballard closed the double-digit scorers with 13 points.
The two teams traded points for the first six minutes before Florida Southern's
Connor Raines drained a three to push the Mocs ahead, 16-14. From that 14:21 mark, Florida Southern never looked back and finished the game with a 37:18 tally of time in the lead. Lynn would get within one, 27-26, but
Noah Louis made a layup with 7:30 remaining in the opening frame to give the Mocs the three-point cushion, 29-26. Florida Southern coasted into the half with a 14-point lead, 49-35, thanks to another Raines three, seconds before the buzzer.
Florida Southern continued to extend its lead and would see itself ahead by nearly 20 points for the final 30 minutes of the contest. The Mocs notched the game's largest lead at the 2:41 mark in the second of 24 points, 94-70.
Farris Kabaloui and
Babtunde Ajike would score the final four points for Florida Southern as the Mocs cruised to the 100-81 final.
The Moccasins will return home to host Rollins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 as part of the Champions Reunion, celebrating the 1981 NCAA Division II National Championship team.
