INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team had a successful day four finals Friday evening in the Division II Swimming Championships at the IU Natatorium.
Florida Southern moves to 31st overall in team scoring with seven points. Sunshine State Conference opponent Nova Southeastern remains in first with 434.5 points.
Mocs had
Erin McCann in the consolation final of the 500 free to start the day, where she finished 16
th with a time of 4:59.15. McCann qualified for the B final after a 4:58.92 prelims time this morning.
In a busy morning session for the Mocs, McCann was joined by
Olivia Miles in the 500 free prelims. Miles finished with a time of 5:01.86, good for 35th in the morning session.
Allie Brinton and
Elizabeth Sikes were in the 200 fly morning heats where Brinton once again broke her own school record with a 2:03.91 finish (0.07 seconds faster than her record-breaking SSC meet). Sikes finished 25th overall with a time of 2:04.48.
The fifth and final day of the DII Swimming Championships will conclude tomorrow with the 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 1650 free, and 400 free relay. Mocs will have McCann and Miles in the 1650 free and
Emily Peck in the 200 breast, along with a team in the 400 free relay.
