LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College men's soccer head coach
Ashley Holmes '12 has announced the team's schedule for the 2023 season. The Moccasins' season will jump into the season early with two non-conference matches on Berend Field.
"I am extremely excited to announce our schedule" stated Holmes. "With a large returning class and some fantastic new additions to the roster I am looking forward to another eventful fall season. This group is eager to get back on the pitch and start competing against some of the best programs in the country. I can't wait to see what they will accomplish in the SSC this year."
The 16-match slate will open on Berend Field with two games over the weekend first against Mississippi College (Aug. 31) followed by Delta State (Sept. 2). After the home opener FSC goes on the road to Alabama to compete in another non-conference battle where the Mocs will face University of Alabama-Huntsville (Sept. 8) and West Alabama (Sept. 10).
Florida Southern returns home on Sept. 13 for a non-conference matchup against Saint Leo University before hosting Eckerd College (Sept. 20) to start the Sunshine State Conference portion of the schedule. The Mocs will hit the road for its first road SSC match at Lynn University (Sept. 23) and will return home to host Nova Southeastern (Sept. 30) to close out September.
FSC travels to Saint Leo for its conference match on Oct. 4 before returning home for back-to-back home games. First the Mocs host Rollins College (Oct. 7) and a non-conference game against Georgia Southwestern State (Oct. 11) before hitting the road for 3-consecutive games. Florida Southern will first make a stop at Palm Beach Atlantic (Oct. 14) followed by Embry-Riddle (Oct. 18), and Tampa (Oct.25) to finish the regular season on the road.
The Mocs continue the regular season with two home matches first Barry (Oct. 28), followed by Florida Tech (Nov.3) where the seniors will be honored for their dedication to the program.
Florida Southern's schedule features four teams that made the NCAA tournament in 2023 in Tampa, Rollins, Florida Tech, and Barry who advanced all the way to the NCAA semifinals.
