WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team fell to Rollins College Friday afternoon in a road conference dual meet at the Alfond Swimming Pool.
The Mocs lost in team scoring 150-111 to the Tars but finished the meet with six individual event wins.
Elizabeth Sikes led the team with two event wins in the meet.
Florida Southern opened its meet with a second-place finish in the 400 medley relay behind a team of
Teagan Michalek, Alizee Pelletier, Sikes
, and
Ainsley Bennett. In the first individual event,
Olivia Miles won the 1000 free in 10:41.47, ahead of her competition. Next in the 200 free, Bennett won the event in 1:56.11. Michalek then finished second in the 100 back in 59.76 for the best Moccasin time.
Pelletier took second in 1:08.63 for the 100 breast event before Sikes won her first event of the night in the 200 fly in a time of 2:06.41.
Jazzy Hoffmann followed with a win in the 50 free in 24.62 and then a third-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 54.54. The 200 back went to the Tars as Bennett finished in second place, as did the 200 breast with second by Pelletier. For the 500 free,
Ella Sieber had the best FSC time in 5:22.92 with Sikes earning her second event win of the day in the 100 fly with a time of 57.91.
A near podium sweep by FSC in the 400 IM as
Vanda Voroshazy won the event in 4:35.59 and Miles in second in 4:35.69. The final event of the day was the 400 free relay as Sikes,
Angelina Fazzino, Bennett, and
Allie Brinton finished second in 3:38.85.
The Mocs will return to Lakeland to host its last home meet of the season against Barry University tomorrow, Jan. 13, at 2:30 p.m. A Senior Day ceremony will take place prior to the start of the meet and a Faculty Appreciation Recognition during one of the intermission breaks.
