OCALA, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team moved into third place overall after a successful day three of the Sunshine State Conference Championships Friday night at the F.A.S.T. Center.

The Mocs moved into third place with 257 points, behind the University of Tampa in second (402 points) and Nova Southeastern University in first (504 points). FSC had seven swimmers compete in the evening finals and ended the evening with a big podium finish in the 400 medley relay in a new program record 3:44.42.

The first event in the evening finals was the 100 fly which was highlighted by
Allie Brinton's fifth-place finish with a time of 55.75 (B standard).
Elizabeth Sikes also competed in the A final and finished seventh with 56.14. In the B Final,
Teagan Michalek placed second in her heat and 10
th overall with a time of 56.37.

For the 400 IM A final,
Olivia Miles led the Moccasins with a fifth-place finish in 4:25.39 with
Ainsley Bennett in eighth with 4:29.11. Taking part in the B final,
Vanda Voroshazy was second in her heat with a time of 4:28.31, and
Anya Bogdanova was right behind with a time of 4:28.33. All four of FSC's swimmers in the 400 IM had a B standard time. FSC ended the night with a team of Michalek,
Alizee Pelletier, Brinton, and
Jazzy Hoffmann in third of the 400 medley relay in 3:44.42 for a new program record.

During the morning session prelims, Sikes had the best FSC prelims time at 55.92 with Brinton right behind with 55.99, both B standard times. The sole FSC B final cut was Michalek's morning time of 57.13. The additional top 20 time for FSC was
Janie Davis with 58.17. For the 400 IM, Miles and Bennett had B standard times of 4:27.00 and 4:28.85, respectively, to head into the A final. B final invites included Voroshazy (4:31.73) and Bogdanova (4:34.73).

The 200 free prelims was a tough swim as
Ella Sieber was just outside the B final with a time of 1:56.52 and
Angelina Fazzino in 19
th in 1:56.86.

The Mocs continue the championships with day four tomorrow, Feb. 17, starting with prelims at 10 a.m. Saturday's events include the 500 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 200 fly, and the 200 free relay to cap the evening finals at 6 p.m. All events take place at the F.A.S.T. Center in Ocala.
