LAKELAND, Fla. – For the 33rd time in program history, the Florida Southern men's basketball team will be competing at the NCAA Tournament as the Moccasins were selected as the No. 3 seed in the upcoming NCAA South Region Championship which will be held at Nova Southeastern University. The Moccasins will open regional play for the first time since the 2019-20 campaign against No. 6 seed Clark Atlanta.
Â
This will mark the program's fourth trip to the postseason under ninth-year head coach
Mike Donnelly, as the Moccasins advanced to the regional in 2018, 2019, and were set to host as the No. 1 seed in 2020. In both the 2018 and 2019 appearances, Florida Southern won its first matchup of the regional before falling in the semifinals in both years. In 2020, the tournament was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
