GENEVA, Ohio – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team opened the NCAA Swimming Championships this afternoon at the SPIRE Institute Aquatics Center.

The Mocs had one event for the day, with
Olivia Miles taking on the 1000 free. Miles finished 27
th in the morning heats with a time of 10:24.57, just a few seconds off from her seeded time. The fastest heat for the 1000 free will take place later tonight as the opening event of the Wednesday finals.

Florida Southern will return to action tomorrow with three events taking place: 100 fly, 400 IM, and 400 medley relay. Miles will represent the Mocs in the 400 IM,
Elizabeth Sikes, and
Allie Brinton in the 100 fly, and a team of Moccasins for the 400 medley relay. Prelims will take place tomorrow, March 14, set for a 10 a.m. start, and finals at 5:30 p.m., all at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva. Â
