GENEVA, Ohio – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team completed the Thursday session of the NCAA Swimming Championships with a new program record in the 400 medley relay and consolation final appearance in the 400 IM at the SPIRE Institute.
The Mocs ended the Thursday finals with the 400 medley relay, as a team of
Teagan Michalek, Alizee Pelletier, Allie Brinton, and
Jazzy Hoffmann set a new program record 3:43.93. The team finished 10
th in the competition in a great performance and is currently 24
th overall in team scoring with 15.5 points.
Prior to the medley relay run,
Olivia Miles represented the Mocs in the evening finals with the 400 IM. Miles placed 15
th overall with a time of 4:24.37 and an Honorable Mention All-American honor. The England native made the B cut after placing 14
th in the morning prelims with a time of 4:25.23.
Florida Southern started the Thursday championship action with the 100 fly prelims as Brinton was just shy of a B final cut with a tie of 20
th in the morning heats with a time of 55.60.
Elizabeth Sikes also competed and finished 24
th with a time of 55.72.
The Mocs will have another busy day of competition tomorrow with the 500 free, 100 breast, and 200 fly events, all at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva.
