GENEVA, Ohio – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team finished in 29
th place in the 2024 NCAA Championships that concluded Saturday night at the SPIRE Institute.
The Mocs had two swimmers compete on the final day of the national finals, each participating in the morning prelims. Through four days of competition and one relay team, FSC finished the 2024 NCAA Championships with 18.5 points, for 29
th place. Fellow Sunshine State Conference team, Nova Southeastern University, repeated as the top team for the 2024 National Championship.
Olivia Miles finished the 1650 free with a time of 17:13.42, a six-second improvement from her seeded time. Her time was good for 14
th among the morning heats, with the fastest heat to be completed in the evening finals, to end in 21
st among all heats on the day. Representing FSC in the 200 breast,
Alizee Pelletier finished 16
th overall in prelims with a time of 2:18.14. She did not compete in the evening finals to end Florida Southern's time at the NCAA Championships for the women's team.
The Mocs ended their 2024 NCAA Championship run with seven Honorable Mention All-American honors, three during individual competition, and four from the relay team. Pelletier and
Allie Brinton led the team with two HM honors each, with a relay team of
Teagan Michalek, Pelletier, Brinton, and
Jazzy Hoffmann part of the 400 medley relay team that finished 10
th overall and a new program record of 3:42.93. In addition to the relay record, Pelletier broke her own record in the 100 breast for a new standard of 1:02.29 when she finished 16
th in the evening finals. Miles was 15
th overall in the 400 IM finals, and Brinton was 15
th in the 200 fly finals as the remaining individual HM All-American awards.
