#8 Mocs Tame Tigers With 4-0 Victory at Sanlando Park

FSC had a big 4-0 victory over the Tigers at the future site of this year's NCAA Championships

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The No. 8 Florida Southern College men's tennis team extended its win streak to 11 matches with a 4-0 win over the University of West Alabama at Sanlando Park Tuesday afternoon.

The Mocs (14-3) dominated the match from the beginning with a quick doubles point and three singles flight wins to enact revenge from last year's contest against UWA. The Tigers (4-7) could not tame the Moccasins with the remaining courts unfinished as the teams played to clinch.

Florida Southern had a big doubles performance to set the mood in the neutral-site matchup. George Russell and Matteo Feggi won 6-1 at the #3 court and Chris Fok Kow and Mario Garoz were not far behind with a 6-3 win at the #1 court to secure the doubles point.

In singles, Garoz, ranked 49th in the latest ITA singles rankings, had a 6-1, 6-4 win at the #3 court, followed by a win for Inaki Braun Simo at the #4 court with a 6-3, 6-1 score. The match-clinching point went to Gabriel Jornert as he won 6-3, 6-4 at the #6 court. Flights for Bosko Boskovic, No. 15 Fok Kow, and No. 37 Russell all went unfinished.

The Mocs will return to conference action for the rest of the regular season, beginning with No. 16 Embry-Riddle on Saturday, March 30, at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
