Women's Tennis Conclude 2024 Spring Season with 6-1 Win Over Rollins

 
WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Florida Southern women's tennis team concluded the 2024 spring season with a win against Sunshine State Conference opponent, #49 Rollins College, with a 6-1 final on Thursday afternoon.
 
The Moccasins (9-11, 3-6 SSC) took the early point in the doubles, sweeping all three courts against the Tars (6-11, 3-6 SSC). They then went into singles with FSC taking five out of the six matches for a final 6-1 win for the Mocs.
 
Heading into the doubles, the 30th ranked duo of Kennedi Brown and Kelly Klaren starred on the No.1 court, taking the 6-3 victory over their opponents. Laia Pasini and Neli Sunjic took a 6-3 victory on the No.2 court against the Tars as well as  the No.3 court, where Ronja Scheuermann and Jolie Miller also defeated Rollins with a 6-3 final. Florida Southern earned the early point, putting them ahead 1-0, before going into singles play. 
 
Going into the singles, FSC had two sets wins in three of the six courts as Beatriz Costa defeated the Tars No. 2 singles player 6-4, 6-2. At court four and five Scheuermann and and Klaren both won as Scheuermann finished with a 6-3, 6-4 win and Klaren with a 6-3, 6-0 final at the fifth court. On the top court, #12 Pasini won her final game as a Moc with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) win to end the season, 16-4. Olivia Bryant rallied to earn the final win at the third court forcing three sets, 4-6, 7-1, 7-5 to conclude the 2024 season 15-4 overall. At the sixth court, Miller faced the Tar's Erin Yarkoshuk falling in two sets 6-0, 6-2. 
 
In doubles action the seniors went out on a high note, finishing their careers 9-2 overall. Close behind the two seniors was the No.1 doubles pair of Brown and Klaren, going 8-6 on the year. 

Florida Southern finished the season ranked 49th in the ITA as of April 24 as the No.1 doubles pair of Brown and Klaren ranked 31st with Pasini finishing her career ranked 11th in the ITA with a 20-6 overall record.
