GILBERT, Ariz. - Florida Southern College women's tennis senior
Josie Holderbach has been selected to compete in the 2026 ITA Division II Singles Championship. The event will take place at the Tuscaloosa Tennis Center from Nov. 4-8 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Last season, Holderbach became the 11th Moc to earn All-American status, finishing No. 15 in the final national rankings of the 2026 spring season. She accumulated an 11-6 overall record as a junior, with four wins over nationally ranked opponents. The Southern Arkansas transfer joined the Mocs last season and earned All-Sunshine State Conference First Team in singles and Second Team in doubles. She was also named the ITA Most Improved Player in the South Region.Â
Holderbach competed in three competitions for the Mocs this fall, highlighted by a quarterfinals appearance in the ITA South Region Championship. During the Mocs' run at the Mercer Invite, Holderbach took down a Division I opponent in singles. The Götzingen, Germany, also found success in doubles this fall with a 3-0 finish at the Hillsborough College Invite, including two wins over Tampa opponents.Â
This year marks the inaugural year of the ITA Division II Singles & Doubles Championship, allowing student-athletes and programs an opportunity to compete for a national championship. In previous years, the ITA has hosted NCAA DII athletes in the ITA Cup, allowing fall championships for small colleges at the national level. Florida Southern last competed in a national championship in 2009, when Senka Softic (2007-10) competed in the 2009 ITA National Small College Championships, presented by the USTA.Â
