Gerry Lucey on the 2024 team, new recruiting class, schedule, and overall preview of the 2024 campaign.
Now in his second year at the helm, Lucey has his first full recruiting class at Florida Southern featuring 20 new players, including 15 freshmen. Several key returners will spotlight the Moccasins in 2024, with the addition of five strong transfers. The biggest change for FSC this year will take place at the goalkeeper position after graduating
Jenny Staten, figure in many program records over the last four years, with a goalie transfer from Rollins College and four freshman keepers to add competition. A total of 17 players returned to FSC, including 10 returners from the 2022 NCAA regional squad, with an exciting 2024 outlook.
Florida Southern opens the season on the road to Georgia with a neutral-site opener against Georgia Southwestern on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. in Columbus, Ga. FSC will wrap up its trip with a Saturday, Sept. 7 game against the host, Columbus State, at 11 a.m. before the 2024 home opener against Bentley on Friday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. on Berend Field.
