LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's swimming team lost its Sunshine State Conference dual meet against No. 5 Nova Southeastern on Saturday afternoon at the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center Pool.

The Moccasins, who are receiving votes in the latest CSCAA Top 25 Poll, finished the meet with 47 team points to Nova Southeastern's 209 points. The Sharks won all of the individual events en route to a conference dual meet win.

The meet opened with the 200 medley relay as a team of
Zoë Celi, Alexa Paredes, Elizabeth Sikes, and
Sam Hunter finished third in 1:48.09. In the 1000 free,
Olivia Miles was second in 10:22.08, just missing first place by 0.06 seconds. For the 200 free,
Vanda Voroshazy was the top Moc in second with 1:54.24. FSC did not podium over the next few events but had a great swim by Hunter in the 50 free for third in 24.42.

The next podium spot for FSC was in the 500 free as
Ainsley L. Bennett was second in 5:11.63, and Voroshazy was third in the 100 fly with a time of 57.82. Representing the Mocs in the 400 IM, Miles was second with a time of 4:31.18. A team of Hunter, Sikes,
Kaitlyn Weitz, and Bennett then placed fourth overall in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:39.40 to finish the meet.

The Mocs will have their last dual meet of the season on Friday, Jan. 31, against Rollins College at the Wellness Center Pool. The meet, which starts at 3:00 p.m., will include a ceremony celebrating our seniors during the first intermission.
