Levassiur Named Coach of the Year; Five Moccasins Earn All-Conference Honors

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's cross country team saw several honors pour in Tuesday (Oct. 28) morning, as the Sunshine State Conference office released its annual awards. Five members of the team were named All-Conference while head coach Matt Levassiur was named SSC Coach of the Year for the second-straight season.

Seniors Christian Giller and Chris Colavita along with junior Cole Summers were named First Team All-Sunshine State Conference while sophomore Eli Zuppa and senior Anthony Matthew took home Second Team accolades. The first team honors for Giller and Colavita are the third of their careers while Summers earned his second career postseason honor. Matthew brought home his third career All-SSC honor while Zuppa picks up his first postseason accolades.

The Coach of Year honor is the second of Levassiur's eight-year career in the Sunshine State Conference. He has guided the Mocs to three-straight SSC Championships, the first back-to-back-to-back titles for the Mocs since the 2008, 2009 and 2010 seasons.

The Moccasins captured the 2025 Sunshine State Conference Championship this past weekend, earning their third-straight title. The Mocs placed all five of their scoring runners in the top-11 with the top-seven finishers earning all-SSC honors.

League coaches voted for Runner, Freshman, and Coach of the Year awards, while runners who finished Top-14 at the 2025 SSC Men's Cross Country Championship earned All-SSC status.
