LAKELAND, Fla. — No. 18 Florida Southern College men's basketball (6-1) secured a 99-92 victory over Bemidji State University (3-3) on Saturday night at Jenkins Field House, led by a strong three-point shooting performance, making 15 of their 44 attempts from beyond the arc.

Mike Donnelly on the Mocs' win over the Beavers. "They didn't quit and put a lot of pressure on us late in the game; but we made a few big plays down the stretch to secure the win. Our team has a lot of room to grow and improve. If we can keep focusing on executing all the little things, we can keep getting better and better."
Florida Southern opened the first half with a strong offensive showing, quickly establishing pace through effective ball movement.
Elijah Walsh connected on multiple three-pointers, contributing to a series of scoring runs that pushed the team ahead.
Khalil Ross made a significant impact with both offensive rebounds and fast-break points, while the defense forced BSU into nine turnovers.
As the half progressed, Florida Southern maintained momentum with contributions from the bench, which accounted for 29 points. Their ability to capitalize on second chances and paint opportunities was crucial, helping to extend their lead. The Mocs closed the half with a 51-42 advantage, setting a solid foundation for the remainder of the game.
Florida Southern widened their lead at the start of the second half with a 3-pointer by
Brady Corso, quickly followed by three consecutive free throws to push the score to 57-42. The team capitalized on turnovers and maintained pressure with a series of successful 3-point shots, including contributions from Ross and
Spencer Schomers, which helped extend their advantage.
Despite the Beavers' attempts to rally with points from both the paint and the perimeter, FSC maintained their lead through strategic plays and defensive rebounds.
Amare Miller and Walsh added critical points in the closing minutes, ensuring that the Moccasins held a firm grip on the game. The half concluded with the Mocs leading 99-92, sealing their victory.
Ross led the team with 25 points, converting 10 of 12 field goals, including four 3-pointers, and added two blocks. Miller recorded a double-double, scoring 11 points and collecting 10 rebounds.
Ameer Ramadan contributed with 10 points, three steals, and five assists.
Jasir Tremble provided defensive support with four steals and added 10 points to the board. FSC utilized everyone on the court, with seven total Mocs in double figures and 48 bench points.Â
Looking ahead, FSC will face Saint Leo on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. for the Sunshine State Conference opener for the Moccasins.Â
