ORLANDO, Fla.  - The Sunshine State Conference has announced 
Elijah Walsh and 
Amare Miller as the Player and Defensive Player on November 3, 2025
The newcomer, Walsh, led the #15 Moccasins offensively throughout their opening weekend at the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. Walsh leads the Moccasin squad in points with 34, after posting a 23-point performance in his first time in a Florida Southern Jersey against Alaska Anchorage. Walsh added double-digit figures for a second time in the narrow 93-91 loss against UVA-Wise (11 points). The senior grabbed seven boards on the weekend and added four steals and two assists. He shot 48.1% from the floor and 30.8% from three. 
Miller posted 11 rebounds, 9 blocks, and a steal to help the #15 Mocs to a 1-1 record to open the season at the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. Offensively, he added 32 points, shooting 37.6% from the floor, while going 80.0% from the free-throw line. Miller put up double-digit scoring figures in both games (16 each). 
 
In the season opener against Alaska Anchorage, Miller grabbed 8 boards and posted four blocks. He rounded out his play with a steal and 16 points in the performance. Against UVA-Wise, he added five more blocks, setting both the single-game and tournament record for blocks in the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. He added 16 points and 3 rebounds in the Moccasins' narrow loss to the Cavaliers.
