BOCA RATON, Fla. — No. 16 Florida Southern men's basketball fell to Lynn 107-74 on Saturday at the de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center. Despite the loss, Fla. Southern (9-2, 2-1 Sunshine State) recorded 24 points off fast breaks and saw significant contributions from its bench with 37 points.

Mike Donnelly. "Credit to Lynn, they played terrific. For us, it's all about moving on quickly to focus on our next challenge. We preach that mentality after successful wins, so it's important to keep things in perspective and make sure we do a good job learning and improving from this lopsided loss."
The first half began with
Amare Miller scoring quickly on a layup, assisted by
Elijah Walsh, to give Florida Southern an early edge. Despite this initial momentum, Lynn responded with a series of successful plays, including a fast break layup by Antoine Jacks and a 3-pointer by Justin Bubak, shifting the lead in their favor. The Mocs kept pace with contributions from
Khalil Ross and
Charlie Dalton, both scoring in the paint.
As the half progressed, Florida Southern faced challenges with turnovers, allowing Lynn to extend their lead through consistent scoring, including a couple of three-pointers by John Roland. Despite efforts from
Riley Buccino, who hit a fast-break three-pointer, the Mocs trailed by the end of the opening frame. The half concluded with the Moccasins behind, 57–26.
The second half began with a momentum shift as Dalton executed a steal and layup for the Mocs, narrowing the gap early. Miller's layup following a defensive block further showcased the team's defensive efforts.
Ameer Ramadan contributed a 3-pointer, assisted by Miller, keeping the visitors engaged in the offensive play.
Florida Southern maintained pressure with Ross and Buccino adding 3-pointers, while Miller continued to drive the offense with a series of successful layups and a free throw. Despite these efforts, Lynn maintained its lead. The half closed with Florida Southern's consistent attempts to close the gap, highlighted by a late fast-break layup by
Luke McGinnis,
though falling
107-74 as a final score.
Miller scored 17 points on 8 of 11 shooting and recorded two blocks.
Jasir Tremble tallied six assists and contributed three points from the free-throw line. Ross added 12 points, making 5 of 9 field goals, and collected five rebounds. Buccino posted 12 points, converting four 3-pointers on eight attempts.
Looking ahead, the Mocs are set to return home to host the Mocs Christmas Classic, facing Bentley on Friday, Dec. 19. The game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. at George W. Jenkins Field House in Lakeland, Florida.
