ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has announced the Women's Swimmer of the Week as Florida Southern College's
Rania Khallouqi, the first conference accolade of her career.
Â
Khallouqi made a big impact for No. 15 Florida Southern in a Friday dual meet win over Indian River State, the 47-time NJCAA champion. The freshman from Worthing, England, opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle (1:56.42) before claiming an individual victory in the 100 free (53.65). Â
Overall for the season, Khallouqi has secured a B cut time in the 200 free, set at last month's Gamecock Invitational. Her fastest times in the free include a 24.14 in the 50 free, 52.01 in the 100 free, and 1:52.64 in the 200 free. As a team, the Mocs ranked No. 15 in the latest CSCAA poll, securing dual meet wins over Florida Tech and IRSC.
Â
Up next, the Mocs will participate in the Shark Invitational, hosted by Nova Southeastern on Thursday, Dec. 18, at the NSU Aquatic Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
