LAKELAND, Fla. – The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams for 2025 have been released with four volleyball players selected from Florida Southern College. Junior

Bali Coles, sophomore
Nako Sasaki, and senior
Morgan Word were all selected for the Academic All-District team. This is the first selection for all four honorees.

Borton played in all 28 matches for the Moccasins while starting 10 in 2025. She recorded 461 assists and 217 digs while tallying 32 service aces. She notched a season-high 29 assists against Fairmont State while achieving a season-high 19 digs against Embry-Riddle. Midway through the season she had to spend time as an outside hitter and registered a season-high seven kills against Palm Beach Atlantic She tallied a season-best three service aces in three different matches including versus St. Mary's, Nova Southeastern, and Embry-Riddle.

Coles played in and started 26 matches during the 2025 season. She led the team with 967 total attack attempts and recorded 231 kills and 301 digs. She contributed 38 service aces and 22 total blocks as well. Her best performance of the season came against Hillsdale where she notched 19 kills, 18 digs, and five aces. She registered 19 kills and 17 digs versus Fairmont State and achieved 16 kills, 15 digs, and three aces at Nova Southeastern.

Sasaki led the conference and ranked 42nd in the nation in digs per set this season at 4.96 while her 536 total digs ranked second in the league and 41st in NCAA Division II. She tallied double-digit digs in all but one match this season including a high of 31 achieved versus Hillsdale in the season opening tournament. She also reached 30 digs versus Embry-Riddle in late October. She posted a trio of double-doubles with double-digit assists versus Eckerd, Florida Tech and Embry-Riddle. Sasaki's season average of 4.96 digs per set ranks fourth in the single season FSC Record Book while her 536 digs rank eighth.

Word started all 28 matches for the Moccasins this past season. She led the team with 234 kills while recording 41 service aces, also the most on the team. Her leadership continued in the front line where she tallied 21 solo blocks and 67 total blocks, both team highs. Her most notable performance came with 14 kills and a .565 hitting percentage against Embry-Riddle. She also delivered 13 kills and a .522 hitting percentage versus Saint Leo. She tied her season-high 14 kills against Rollins as well.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 13, 2026.
