FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 15 Florida Southern College women's swimming team took part in the Shark Invitational on Thursday to wrap up the calendar year of meets.

The Mocs finished their only day of competition fourth out of six teams, tallying 307 points. Nova Southeastern University led the invite with 698.5 points, followed by Lynn University (412.5), Indian River State College (380), FSC, Barry University (37), and Ave Maria University (17).

The day's events began with the 100 fly as
Elizabeth Sikes was the Top Moc with a fifth-place finish in 56.24. In the 500 free,
Gabrielle Goodwin was third with a time of 4:59.04 for a podium spot. For the 200 IM,
Zoë Celi was the top FSC finisher in 13
th overall with a time of 2:11.95. This was followed by the 50 free with
Sam Hunter finishing in 23.85 for seventh overall. The final event of the first session was the 200 medley relay, as a team of Celi,
Alexa Paredes, Sikes, and Hunter finished in fifth with a time of 1:45.49.

In the evening session, Â the Mocs started with the 400 IM as Goodwin finished in fifth overall in 4:28.44, just ahead of teammate
Natalie True in sixth with 4:29.64. Representing FSC in the 200 free,
Rania Khallouqi was seventh overall in 1:52.59, before Paredes was third overall in the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.28. The last individual event was the 100 back, as Celi was the top FSC time of 57.21 for fifth place overall. The final event of the day was the 200 free relay, as a team of
Mallory Baker, Hunter, Sikes, and Khallouqi was fourth with a time of 1:35.88.

The Mocs will return in the new year with a dual meet at Rollins College on Friday, Jan. 16, with a 3 p.m. start in Winter Park.
