LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 14 Florida Southern College men's tennis team beat Michigan Tech 4-0 in a clinched match on Tuesday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.

The Moccasins (3-3, 1-2 SSC) won the doubles point and the first three courts of singles to clinch the match. The Huskies (2-2) lost their second match of the spring season, unable to stop FSC in the early sets of singles.

In doubles,
Mario Garoz and
Chris Fok Kow won the #1 court by a 6-2 score.
George Russell and
Edoardo Melindo lost at the #2 court 7-5 to tie the sets into a point-deciding third court.
Sam Frizelle and
Matthew Hewitt outlasted their MTU competition with a 7-5 win to take the doubles point.

FSC controlled the first three courts of singles, led by Frizelle winning #1 court 6-2, 6-0. Fok Kow won at #2 6-2, 6-4, followed by a court 3 win by No. 38 Garoz 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the match 4-0. Courts 4-6 went unfinished with a busy week of tennis for FSC.

The Mocs will have a quick turnaround with a match tomorrow, Feb. 26, hosting No. 15 University of Charleston, set for 2 p.m. start at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
