LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 6 Florida Southern College baseball team extended its win streak to six games after a 14-3 win over Roosevelt University on Tuesday night at Henley Field.

The Moccasins (15-2, 5-1 SSC) dominated the game after a scoreless first inning to finish with 14 runs, the ninth game of the season in double-digit runs. The Lakers (4-5, 0-0 GLIAC) opened with a single run in the first but gave up 11 unanswered runs, eventually losing 14-3.

Florida Southern finished with 14 hits to match its 14 runs, led by a 4-for-4 game by
Mikey Scott. Grant Thoroman, Noah Rabin, Rohsean Riley, and
Brady Doorey finished with two hits each, with
Jorge Santana III and
Cleary Simpson single-hit batters. FSC drew 10 walks as a team, three by Rabin alone, who led the team in RBI as well (five), highlighted with a two-run homer and two-run triple. Florida Southern used a host of pitchers, starting with
Jack Owens, who went a predetermined three innings and two strikeouts for his second win of the season.
Ethan Breslin, Evan Mobley, Tanner Quick, Tanner Rollyson, Casey O'Dell, Austen Kessler, and
David Butz were all used on the mound.

Roosevelt had nine hits with 11 runners left on in the 14-3 loss. Koa Ogawa and James Berry led the team with three hits each. A solo homer by Gavin Millard and triple by Berry rounded out the extra-base hits. Omar Abuelhija got the start for the Lakers, who went four innings and six earned runs on three strikeouts.

The Lakers opened the game with a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to go up 1-0, but the lead was short-lived with five runs by FSC in the bottom second. Simpson, Scott, Riley, and Thorman had RBI hits to highlight the inning. Rabin smashed a two-run homer in the fourth inning to add another two runs, 7-1, preceding another big inning by the Mocs in the sixth with four runs scored. Thoroman, Rabin, and Santana had RBI hits to go up 11-1 over the Lakers. Roosevelt added two runs in the seventh inning off a solo homer and sac fly, but those were the last runs scored by the Lakers. FSC added insurance runs in the seventh inning with a bases-loaded walk and two sac flies in the eighth to end the scoring with a 14-3 final score.
