LAKELAND, Fla. - The No. 6 Florida Southern College baseball team rallied in the final innings to win 7-5 in the series opener against Palm Beach Atlantic University on Friday night at Henley Field.

The Moccasins (28-8, 12-4 SSC) had a four-run deficit heading into the fifth inning but scored six unanswered to win the game. The Sailfish (14-19, 7-12 SSC) batted two homers but could not stop FSC late in the game in the loss.

Florida Southern was led by a 3-for-4 day by
Mikey Scott, including a two-run homer.
Jack Duffy matched the three hits, scoring two runs, and a solo homer himself to finish with two RBI on the night.
Grant Thoroman, Noah Rabin, and
Jevin Relaford had multi-hit nights, each with two.
Ahmad Fitts had a single hit to round out the team's 13 hits. FSC stole seven bases on PBA, despite three caught stealing. Relaford had three and Thoroman two, as the Mocs now have 161 SB in 2025.

Sachem Ramos got the start, winning his eighth game of the season with six innings of work and five strikeouts. He was relieved by
Evan Mobley, who went two innings with two strikeouts. The save went to
Wyatt Clark, who pitched the final inning, allowing no runs and one strikeout.

Palm Beach Atlantic had 11 hits on the day, two shy of FSC's total. The Sailfish matched the Mocs' two homers with Amparo and Holmes hitting over the fence. Holmes led the team with three hits, with Chantres and Rakes multi-hit batters. Dane Hall had the start with a productive first few innings before giving up four runs in the fifth. He was relieved by Nick Feretic, who pitched the final 2.2 innings.

The first run of the day was a solo homer by PBA in the top of the second after a scoreless first inning. The Mocs answered with a sac fly by Duffy to even the score, 1-1. However, in the top of the third, the Sailfish had a big three-run homer to go up 4-1. The lead was then extended to four by PBA after an RBI single in the fourth inning, 5-1. Florida Southern cut into the deficit in the fifth inning after a big triple by Duffy preceded an RBI single by Relaford. Scott followed with a two-run homer and Rabin an RBI single to tie the game, 5-5, through five innings.

FSC took its first lead of the day with a solo homer by Duffy in the top of the sixth inning and extended the lead to two runs after an RBI single by Thoroman to make it a 7-5 ball game through seven. Neither team scored in the eighth, as FSC called upon Clark in the final frame to seal the 7-5 win and get the save.

The Mocs will wrap up their series against the Sailfish with a doubleheader tomorrow, April 12, beginning with a 1 p.m. start at Henley Field.
