BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Southern College men's lacrosse team dropped a tight Sunshine State Conference contest on the road at Lynn University Saturday afternoon, 13-10. FSC took a 9-8 lead with 10:17 left in the game before Lynn scored five-straight to take a 13-9 advantage. The Mocs added a late goal with six seconds left for the final score of 13-10.

The loss is the third-straight for the Mocs who fall to 3-10 on the season including 1-5 in conference play. The Fighting Knights improved to 9-4 in 2025 and 4-2 in league action.

Carter Vaillancourt led the Mocs with three points each in the loss. They each had one goal and two assists. Junior

Maddux Walton and senior
Matt Flammenspeck each scored a pair of goals in the contest to lead the team in scoring.

Alex Haughn led the defensive effort with two caused turnovers and two ground balls while Czyz returned to the face off where he won 17-of-23 (.739) while grabbing five ground balls.

Michael Simone played all 60 minutes in goal for the Mocs where he made a season-high 18 saves in the loss.

The game was tight throughout with each team taking a one-goal lead in the opening 15 minutes before ending the period tied 2-2. The second was much like the first with each team taking a one goal advantage at some point during the 15 minutes of action before entering halftime tied up at 5-5.

The third saw the first two-goal lead of the contest as Lynn opened the period with back-to-back goals, opening up a 7-5 lead. The Mocs struck back scoring two goals within 2:01 of each other to tie the contest heading into the fourth, 7-7.

Lynn opened the scorning in the fourth just over three minutes in to take an 8-7 lead. Vaillancourt evened the game up at 8-8 just 15 seconds later off an Ansted assist. Junior
Nolan Tighe gave the Mocs their final lead of the contest at the 10:17 mark as he finished off an assist from Vaillancourt. Just over two minutes later the Knights began their game-winning 5-0 run that lasted just under eight minutes. Czyz added on a late goal with six seconds left in the game but it was not enough as FSC fell 13-10.

Florida Southern will be back in action Wednesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. as the Mocs host No. 1 Tampa in the final contest of the 2025 regular season.
