WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Florida Southern College men's lacrosse team fell Wednesday night on the road at Rollins College in a high-scoring 20-13 contest. Nine different Moccasins scored in the contest led by sophomore
Maddux Walton who turned in the fifth hat trick of his career and second of 2025.

Florida Southern fell to 3-8 with the setback including 1-3 in Sunshine State Conference play while the Tars improved to 4-7 while capturing their first SSC victory at 1-2 on the year.

FSC started out strong at took a 4-2 lead after the first 15 minutes of action. The Tars took control of the game over the second and third quarters where they out-scored the Mocs 13-3 over the 30 minutes of action. FSC won the final 15 minutes of action 6-5 but it was not enough to overcome the eight goal deficit.

Walton led the offensive effort with three goals and an assist for a four-point night while freshman
Carter Vaillancourt also chipped in four points off of two goals and two assists. Junior
Jack Epley was the only pother Moccasin with multiple goals as he finished with two tallies in the loss. Sophomore
Grant Ansted and senior
Brydon Robichaud each chipped in two points off of one goal and one assist. Six others tallied one point in the loss including four goal-scorers and two with one assist each.

Freshman
Carson Corona led the defensive side of the ball with three caused turnovers while seven others each had one. Five Mocs shared the team-lead in ground balls including sophomores
Charlie Fisher,
Will Rockwell, and
Alex Haughn, along with senior
Mason McQuiggin and freshman
Carter Vaillancourt.

Graduate student
Michael Simone played the opening 45 minutes in goal for the Mocs and registered 11 saves in the loss while graduate student
Levi Shapiro saw the final 15 minutes in net while making a pair of saves.

The Moccasins were without leading faceoff specialist
Jacob Czyz so three different Mocs combined to go 10-of-35 (.286) at the faceoff with junior
Luke Henricksen leading the way at 6-of-20 (.300).

The Mocs will be back in action this Saturday, April 5 at home versus Florida Tech. The Mocs and Panthers will take the field at noon.
