FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The No. 18 Florida Southern College women's swimming team split today's dual meets against No. 2 Nova Southeastern University and Barry University at the NSU Aquatic Center.

The Moccasins dropped its dual meet against the host team to a 67-190 team score, but beat the Buccaneers in head-to-head scoring with a 173-51 victory. The teams were also joined by the University of Miami, which swam without team scores in the meet, though it provided great competition for the DII programs.

Zoë Celi delivered a strong performance, securing second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.06. The team showed competitive efforts across events, highlighted by
Gabrielle Goodwin's second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:02.16.
Natalie True was just outside the podium with a fourth-place finish in 5:04.11.

Celi also finished sixth in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:05.98 and contributed to her team's fourth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
Alexa Paredes excelled in the 100-yard breaststroke, capturing second place with a time of 1:04.31, and participated in the sixth-place 200-yard medley relay.
Sam Hunter demonstrated her competitive edge by finishing sixth in the 50-yard freestyle at 24.08 and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.91, while also playing a key role in the fourth-place 400-yard freestyle relay.

In their next event, the Moccasins will face Lynn University on Saturday, January 24, at 10 a.m. The matchup will take place in Boca Raton, Florida.
