Dalton Triple-Double Leads to Commanding Victory Over Fighting Knights

Dalton became the first Moc since 2021 to record the triple-double and sixth in program history

LAKELAND, Fla.Charlie Dalton's triple-double led Florida Southern College men's basketball (16-5, 8-3 Sunshine State) to a commanding 99-73 victory over Lynn University (10-8, 5-6 Sunshine State) on Saturday night at Jenkins Field House.

Florida Southern's offense excelled with 31 assists and 13 three-pointers, leading to a decisive home win. Dalton's triple-double (18p, 11r, 11a) was the first for the program since 2021, when Jalyn Hinton hit 21 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 blocks against Barry University on March 13. Tonight's standout performance was the sixth triple-double in program history.

"Great all around effort tonight on both sides of the ball," said Moccasins' head coach Mike Donnelly. "I thought our guys fed off the crowd's energy. It was a fun game to watch and the atmosphere inside Jenkins Fieldhouse tonight was electric!"

The Mocs' defense was effective, forcing turnovers and capitalizing with fast breaks, while Corso continued his 3-point accuracy, extending the lead to 19–2 by 17:23.

Throughout the half, FSC controlled the pace and maintained a consistent scoring advantage. Amare Miller's dunk and Khalil Ross's jumper from the paint kept the team ahead, while Corso's 3-point shooting remained a crucial factor. Despite the Fighting Knights' attempts to regroup, the Mocs closed the half strong, with Dalton's defensive rebound and jumper solidifying their lead. The half ended with Florida Southern leading 55–41.

Florida Southern maintained control with consistent scoring, highlighted by a jumper from Ameer Ramadan and a three-pointer from Tremble, which increased the advantage to 96–71. Defensive efforts were solid, with Spencer Schomers delivering a block at 8:36 and Dalton contributing to a robust rebounding performance. The half concluded with a 99–73 lead for the Moccasins, showcasing their ability to sustain offensive pressure throughout the half.
