LAKELAND, Fla. – Senior
Jacob Czyz of the Florida Southern College men's lacrosse program was named a Preseason First Team All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). He is coming off a junior season where he became just the third First Team All-American in program history and was named the Faceoff Specialist of the Year by USILA.

Czyz appeared in 12 of the Mocs' 14 games last season while ranking in the top-10 nationally in both face-off winning percentage (7
th/.678) and ground balls per game (8
th/7.83). He scored a career-high eight goals on the season, surpassing his previous career total of six goals coming into 2025. He tallied a career-best two goals on the road at Lynn that capped off a streak of four-straight games in which he had a goal. He also scored his first career game-winning goal versus Colorado Mesa in a 15-8 victory. He finished with double-digit ground balls in three contests with a season-best 14 coming versus Wingate. He won double-digit face offs in every game in which he appeared with a season-best 19 wins coming versus Wingate as he went 19-of-25 (.760) versus the Bulldogs. His highest winning percentage came at Belmont Abbey where he went 17-of-20 (.850).

The Baldwinsville, N.Y. native is a three-time USILA All-South Region honoree after being named honorable mention as a freshman and sophomore and First Team as a junior.

Czyz and the rest of the Moccasins will open up the 2026 campaign this Sunday, Feb. 1 as they travel to conference rival #18 Rollins for a non-conference contest. The action begins at noon in Winter Park.
