Box Score WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Florida Southern College men's lacrosse team dropped its 2026 season opener Sunday afternoon as the 18
th-ranked Rollins College Tars pulled away in the second period for a 12-5 victory. FSC led 3-1 after the first quarter of action but an explosive 7-1 second quarter for the Tars put the home team ahead for good.
Freshman
Angus Walko opened his collegiate career with a hat trick as he led the team with three goals. Junior
Maddux Walton added a goal and a team-high three assists while senior
Anthony Guglielmo added a goal.
Senior
Jacob Czyz went 10-of-19 (.526) at the 'X' while freshman
Wayde Jamieson made his debut in goal making 17 saves.
The Mocs were called for seven total penalties which led to six extra-man opportunities for the hosts who scored on three. FSC was also able to pick up six extra-man opportunities in the game as well but were unable to convert any of them into scores.
FSC won the battle of clears as they held Rollins to 17-of-22 (.773) while going 17-of-19 (.895) on their own transition play.
Rollins scored the opening goal of the game just under two minutes in but the Mocs responded with three straight to end the quarter up 3-1. The Tars tied the match up at 3-3 just under two and half minutes into the second period. The Mocs held a brief 4-3 lead after a Walton goal with 11:14 left on the first half clock. Just over two and half minutes later the Tars began a 9-0 run that lasted until four seconds left in the game while Walko broke through for his final tally of the contest.
FSC will return to action this Saturday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. as the Mocs travel to fifth-ranked Wingate.
