The Moccasins locked in the SSC tournament berth after a 2-0 victory against Barry University last week, waiting until the final games played last night to know who their opponent would be. Finishing the regular season with a 7-1-8 overall record and a 4-1-5 record in conference play, FSC was undefeated at home at 3-0-5 and set a program record for most ties in a single season. With NCAA postseason bids on the table, the SSC quarterfinals will be the first step toward extending the season.

5th Seed – The Moccasins - Roster | Schedule | Coaches | Statistics
Florida Southern, having won the last two games to end the regular season, including a 2-0 shutout of No. 2 Florida Tech, continues to be one of the best teams in the conference. The Mocs have a stellar defense with a conference-low 0.50 GAA over 16 games played. With only eight goals allowed,
Carly Brodsky and a solid defensive back line make it very difficult to have scoring opportunities. Brodsky has nine shutouts this year, 23 in her career, while adding 42 saves and a 0.84 save percentage. A defensive back featuring
Allie Draper, Frankie Gatien, Carli Proctor, and
Aliya Roberts, Brodsky has only faced 128 shots compared to 231 for opponents.
Â
Second only behind Florida Tech, the Mocs have 239 total shots taken, averaging 14.94 a game and 6.19 shots on goal per game.
Hayden Johnston leads the team in shots with 39 and team-best 16 on goal.
Sierra Spirk has had a strong presence the last several games, scoring two goals and two assists in her seven starts.
Isabella Payne, Kyleigh Cilento, and Johnston have a team-high three assists on the year to contribute to the offensive front.
Â
Outside of the SSC, Florida Southern is 15
th among NCAA DII teams in goals-against average (0.50), 22
nd in corner kicks per game (6.50), and 27
th in save percentage (0.849). Sixth in the South Region NPI rankings, the Mocs are hunting for a spot in the NCAA tournament, with other conference teams, including the one on schedule for Monday.

4th Seed – The Spartans - Roster | Schedule | Coaches | Statistics
The University of Tampa locked in the four-seed after ending the regular season with a narrow 1-0 loss to Florida Tech on Friday night, the last SSC matchup before the SSC tournament. Overall, the Spartans are 8-5-3 and 5-3-2 in conference play. Avery Bracher is the leader in assists for the team with four, just ahead of Brielle Johnston and Brooke Kittner with three assists each. Â
The Matchup – FSC vs UTampa
The teams have met 35 times in program history, with the Spartans holding a 22-8-5 advantage over the Mocs. In the regular season, Tampa had the 1-0 win on Oct. 21, the only loss of the season for FSC. The previous three matchups ended in a tie dating back to 2023. With 0.94 average goals scored, the matchup tends to be tightly contested, with the same at stake for advancing into the SSC tournament. This will be the fourth time the teams have played each other in the SSC tournament, dating back to the 2008 semifinals. Mocs won that game 3-2 in double overtime, with following contests going a 3-0 UTampa win in the 2012 semifinals and a 1-0 win in the quarterfinals after double overtime in 2013. Â
Â
FSC in the SSC Tournament
Overall, the Mocs are 7-9-4 all-time in the SSC tournament. The four ties had three instances of the opponent advancing on PKs, except for a 2012 quarterfinals game that the Mocs advanced on PKs, 4-1. Most recently, the Mocs beat Embry-Riddle, a four-seed, 2-0 on the road in the 2025 quarterfinals before a close 1-0 loss against Nova Southeastern in the semifinals. Having won the regular season championship once in program history (2022), the Mocs have advanced to the championship game two times in history, still eyeing a tournament championship.
