OCALA, Fla. — Florida Southern College women's swimming opened the 2026 Sunshine State Conference Championships with a fourth-place finish in the women's 800-yard freestyle relay on Wednesday night at the FAST Center.
The opening day of championships started with the B squad from the Moccasins, featuring
Charlotte Bell, Josie Strobl, Emma Sammons, and
Zoë Celi, who finished with a time of 7:47.41. Bell had the leadoff leg with a 200 split of 1:55.50.
In the A final heat, FSC featured an all-freshman squad, finishing fourth place in the 800-yard freestyle relay, earning the team 30 points.
Rania Khallouqi led off with a 1:51.32 split, followed by
Natalie True, Emma Huma, and
Hannah Stewart. The squad finished with a time of 7:39.61, ending the night's events.
The Mocs will resume the championships tomorrow, Thursday, February 12th, at 10:00 AM with Day 2 prelims. Events for the day include the 200 IM, 50 freestyle, and 1000 freestyle. The evening finals will include the last heat of the 1000 free and 200 medley relay competitions.
