OCALA, Fla. – Day two of the Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships finished with the Florida Southern College women's swimming team in fourth place overall on Thursday night at the FAST Center.

The Moccasins sit in fourth place with 104 points, just outside the top three, led by the University of Tampa with 288 points. Nova Southeastern University is closely behind with 281 points, followed by Lynn University with 148 points, ahead of FSC.

A total of three Moccasins made the evening finals, beginning with
Gabrielle Goodwin in the final heat of the 1000 free. Goodwin finished in the top 10 with a time of 10:22.70. Representing FSC in the 50 free,
Mallory Baker and
Sam Hunter made the B final, with Baker finishing in 11
th overall with a time of 23.74, followed by Hunter in 13th overall with a time of 23.86.

The final event of the evening was the 200 medley relay which an A team of
Zoë Celi,
Alexa Paredes, Elizabeth Sikes, and Hunter finished fourth overall with a time of 1:43.82. The B team had a great showing with a time of 1:44.57.

In prelims,
Sophia Kogelschatz was just outside of an evening invite for the 200 IM, finishing 17
th overall in the morning session with a time of 2:10.11. She was followed by teammate
Josie Strobl, who finished in 2:10.48. Paredes (2:11.56),
Hannah Stewart (2:12.03), and Celi (2:12.63) each finished in the top 30 overall for the morning heats. For the 50 free, Baker and Hunter went back-to-back for 12
th and 13
th place to make the B final.
Rania Khallouqi (24.20) and Sikes (24.63) both finished in top 30 as well. Morning heats in the 1000 free included a 10:27.71 time for
Natalie True, 10:36.29 for
Emma Sammons, and 10:55.24 for
Emma Huma.

The Mocs will resume tomorrow, Friday, February 13th, at 10:00 AM with Day 3 prelims. Events for the day include the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, and 200 freestyle. The evening finals will add the 400 medley relay to complete the day's events.
